Lesson Learnt....
Automotive Paint stripper is not a short cut. Unless you are part of a modelling crime family and want your kit (in this case the Eunos Roadster) to disappear.
I thought I'd be clever and speed things up by dunking the model in the stripper overnight. Its vanished!!

Re: Lesson Learnt....
Next time, perhaps you can try to use one of those;

Re: Lesson Learnt....
Looks good! Thanks! I may consider that when I get a bigger place.
I'll probably do the brake fluid next time. I was just too lazy to do it. |

Re: Lesson Learnt....
I always use 95% Isopropanol. Every drugstore has it. And it removes almost any type of paint without damaging or softening the plastic. I've soaked the wheels of my caterham in it for over a year and there"s absolutly no damage.

Re: Lesson Learnt....
Brake Fluid & Castrol Super Clean work very good for stripping paint. However, brake fluid, if left in it long enough, will cause the plastic to go soft & distort. I lost a race car body to that once. But it had been in for probably 2 month.

Re: Lesson Learnt....
Yes, brake fluid works very well but be careful with it: it makes the plastic soften after a longer time, I lost the roof of a Gallardo once, but worse happened to my Lexus LS600hL kit: front of the car broke into 1 cm pieces
(but the paint came off ), so watch out for how long you dip your kit into brake fluid!
