350 engine upgrades - Intake manifold

I was thinking about upgrading my cam and intake manifold.

The intake I am looking at is on summitracing.com, but doesnt have a spot for the egr. Yes, they have another with the egr feature.

I want to know if the one without the egr will work the same.

I've heard of people saying the new intake manifolds are made different and recirculate the gases threw the manifold itsself. Is this true or should I get the one with the egr?

This will be a street application. I also want to put my 600 cfm holley on it.

Re: 350 engine upgrades - Intake manifold

There are a zillion choices with Summit. What make and model intake manifold and cam are you looking at? What year and make is your vehicle. Do you have a manual or auto trans? What is your rear end ratio. These kinds of things need to be figured in when selecting a cam and intake.

An intake can not recir exhaust gases without an EGR valve. If smog is an issue for you, then you will not pass inspection without an EGR valve.
