Sub and Amp Question

I am looking at buying a set of Earthquake DBX12-R subs, Rated 500 RMS and 1000 Peak, I am looking for input about the subs, and what would be a decent yet reasonably priced amp for them be? And what would be a good box size for those be? Would 0.8 to 1 cubic feet be fine?

.8 to 1 ft^3 seems a bit small for a 12" sub, would be way too small for 2 of them. The only thing Earthquake ever made that was worth a crap was the old D2 "shredder" amp.

It would be .8 to 1 ft^3 per sub, Ive heard both good and bad on earthquakes, thats why I was asking, the person who i would by them from is selling for a friend, he had 4 in his tahoe and they kicked pretty good from what ive been told from many people that know the owner

its pretty standard that most 12 inch subs require 1.25 per sub but ultmtly it depends on what type of enclosure youre using/building when you get the subs itl come with a spec sheet an itl tell you what air space is required an the calculation 4 determing airspace is HXWXLXD divided by 1748

you got one too many dimensions in there, partner .... and 1 ft^3 is actually 1728

hmm i have always been taught its been you multiply hieght, width depth sn length sn divide by 1728 but always room for error cause by no means do i know all haha thsnx !!

So what do you do to find the amount of air space in the box? I plan on building the encloser for this setup since its different then my other cars and its gonna be a better system overall And what would be a good size amp to get for subs that are 500 RMS or even 700 RMS like the solobaric L7's? I am planning on getting 2 12 inch 500 watt subs, so would an 800 W RMS amp work for that? And what would be a good amp size for two L7's if I were to go that route?

ive always takin the hieght, legnth depth multiply those take the number you get divide that by 1728 an the anser is the air space of the box an as far as the amp im a memphis fan personally id go w/ a memphis d1001.1 its 1000 rms itl doo perfect for those subs if there 500 rms just dont crank all youre settings

measure the INSIDE of the box, not the outside. Most boxes are 3 dimensional rectangles with 6 sides - basically there are 3 pairs of sides with each pair being the same size, i.e. the top and bottom are the same, both sides are the same and the front and back will be the same. It's just a product of these measurements. Then you have to subtract the volume of the speaker anf the volume of any port(s) in the box.
