HID's

I bought a set of 5000 K HID low beams from wbodystore.com for a mere $120. I think I spent 20 min to install them. What a world of a difference this simple upgrade makes. I love the look of these on my car. My only gripe is that I think I should've got 4300K's instead, as these look ridiculously blue. When I get around to taking a picture (and properly aiming the headlights), I will show you all what they look like.

Now that I have HIDs, there are a few downsides. I had to program my remote entry verification so the headlights don't flash, as I don't think a short on-off cycle is good for the bulbs or ballasts. I would like to somehow program it so the high beams flash when I unlock, since that's not a preset choice, it wouldn't be easy to do.

Something I really want to do and I know can be done is make it so that when I turn the high beams on , the lows stay on too, kind of like when you hold the signal stalk towards you. Anyone have any suggestions? I know on Gen 3 W-bodies, the lows stay on with the highs, so perhaps a swap of a relay or something??

Re: HID's

I would think it would be as easy to run a jumper wire from the high to the low relay, but keeping on one side of the high beam relay jumper so the lows wont power the highs, but the highs will power the lows. Ive done it before on a 2002 impala, i really should find that article on how to do it....

Re: HID's

please do, i have FSMs for a 99 Intrigue but so much of it is greek to me.

I grew tired of holding flash to pass mode on for half an hour on the way home tonight. Normally its not an issue, but it was raining hard with poor visibility and roads that havent been painted in eons, so I needed some light!
