Shaving Side Moldings opinion.

Alright, I've been debating this for a long time and just can't decide. Should I shave my side door moldings? I did a quick MS paint shaving to get an idea. (Could've been better but I don't have photoshop yet)

So, What do you guys thinks? Shave or keep? Also, If I shave how do you think the best way to go about it is?

Re: Shaving Side Moldings opinion.

i think it looks a lot better shaved but be aware that there may be paint bubbles under the molding that will flake off, my driver side was perfect but the passenger side had a few bubbles that came off and one left a strip of missing paint half an inch thick and 5 inches long.

if you do it use fishing line to start it off and after you get about 3 inches down you should be able to just grab it and slowly pull it off.

heres mine after i shaved it....

Re: Shaving Side Moldings opinion.

Hey Stump, is that moisture in your headlight I see? Does everybodys fucking halos do that lol? And its usually only one of them that does it, the same one on mine had so much moisture there was a huge puddle in the bottom of the light, I drilled a very small hole under all the water and siliconed the seals again, and it doesnt happen anymore, except the winter.

Re: Shaving Side Moldings opinion.

I say you should shave them, they look way better off. I wish i could do this but am just too scared to since some of my clear coat is flaking off near the one modeling

Re: Shaving Side Moldings opinion.

Keep in mind there isnt really any shaving involved all your doin is peeling back the trim piece. An easy way to get the trim off is get some strong fishing line and put it between the car n the trim n pull along until it goes through all the adhesive thats holding it on lessoning the chances of taking paint with it. From the i want to the hardware store and got some adhesive remover for couple bucks and got rid of the remaining adhesive. Hopefully your cars paint hasnt faded to much unlike mine.

Re: Shaving Side Moldings opinion.

Well, I like the Side moldings on the LS Sport, They're rigid and not round. Look sharper.
