Re: Inoperative Trunk Release Button by left knee...
That "switch to turn off another switch" is there to make the valet function inoperative. You keep your valuables locked in the trunk, as well as some very personal items in the glove box. You deactivate the the trunk release switch, and lock your glove box. Then when you go someplace that has valet parking, you had them the valet key (it's different than the other keys, and if you bought the car new it came with it) to park your vehicle.

If it has a valet switch, then it has an "override switch". Whether it be in the glove box, or in the trunk.

Re: Inoperative Trunk Release Button by left knee...
Where in the trunk is it located? I think I may have a similar problem with my remote/keyless trunk release. The actuator makes a sound as if it's about to open the trunk, but it doesn't release the cable all the way. Could I have a bad actuator? Thanks!
