right front end noise
I have a terrible noise (sounds sort of like when you stick your finger in a fan blade) coming from the right fron side of the van. Weird as it may sound, the noise only happens when DEcelerating (like taking your foot off the gas coming to a stop light.) Hit the gas and the noise stops! Noise is definitely coming from something rotating, as it gets faster sounding the faster the car goes. Help! Its driving me NUTS. I'm a lady & don't want to get rooked by the shop as I have VERY, VERY little $$ to spare
Thanks in advance. |

Re: right front end noise
I'm confused, you say the sound only happens when you decelerate, but that it gets faster as you accelerate, how can it get faster with acceleration if it only happens during deceleration??
Does happen with the brake on or off? Your gonna have to pull the wheel and see what's rubbing around in there. |

Re: right front end noise
My post was confusing. The reason I say its faster is because when you get up to 50mph and let off the gas the sound is faster than when you are at 30mph and let off the gas. The sound happens mostly when the brake is OFF, but occasionally happens when the brake is lightly pressed.

Re: right front end noise
So I took the thing to a reputable mechanic today. Says its either the axle or the wheel bearings. I will post the follow-up tomorrow when he tears in to it.
