New cam and alum heads
I just installed a new cam and alum heads on my 92 GM truck with a 5.7. Everything went back together excellently. My problem now is that the truck won't start. I have gone through all the checks ie dist position firing order ect. I have fuel and spark' but still will not fire. Cam is in the proper position, dst is in correct, firing order is correct. The only thing i did that is different now is I elliminated the EGR. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
Thanks |

Re: New cam and alum heads
Make sure you don't have the distributor or rotor off 180 degrees. The rotor should point to #1 tower at tdc of the compression stroke. Pull the valve cover off and rotate the engine by hand (15/16" socket on alternator bolt will usually work, and is easier than reaching the crank pulley) while watching the rocker arms if necessary.

Re: New cam and alum heads
Thanks for the reply. Everything is good with the distributor position. Now I have a new problem, After charging the battery the injectors are not firing. I'am having the computer checked out.
