Re: How to bypass factory amp on 03 eclipse gt

Well, what exactly are you wanting to run off the amp you put in...just a sub, or do you want your stock amp to still run your mids and then the other amp to run a sub...or are you wanting your new amp to only run your stock speakers, or are you gonna use 2 amps (one for sub and one for stockers). How I did mine was before I installed my aftermarket speakers and was just running a sub and new head unit I was able to run the sub out RCA to the sub amp and the other speakers I was simply able to hook up to the new HU from the stock amp. If you want to bypass the amp entirely then just dont hook it up to the HU (I took mine out when I put in my new touch screen). If I remember correctly I had no problem at all trying to figure out what needed to be done...if anyone else has any other ideas let him have it.

Re: How to bypass factory amp on 03 eclipse gt

the amp is located under the passenger seat. pull the wires you don't want out, and put them in something else... ta da!

but seriously, knowing more of what you are doing is going to help you. the more clear your question is the more clear we can make an answer for you.

Re: How to bypass factory amp on 03 eclipse gt

well, not sure if you know this or not, but is the new amp a mono block amp, or is it a 4 channel. If it's a mono amp them of course nothing will come out because you factory speakers will not be powered by anything...also, if you are running a stock head unit I am not sure there is a sub out (but if you have the infinity system you will have a center speaker, so just run that wire from the head unit to the new amp and reconnect the other wires to your factory amp and that should work.)

Re: How to bypass factory amp on 03 eclipse gt

i know how....i did it not to long ago....

you got to cutt wall wires connecting to the gay ass stock amp.....then find your car audio wiring colors..(brown / red, red/white etc...) they can be found on google.....those wires are your speaker wires....its about 12 wires...now once u find that then connect those wires to your deck wires..and you set to go......installation is about 1-2 hours if you dont get tooo bored....

i think i still have pics of it being installed ....pm me if you need futher info
