'97 Corolla Airbag issues

Hey all--
I was in a small crash last month that deployed the airbags on my '97 Corolla, and I've had some really conflicting reports on what to do about it. I've done a bit of research on buying used bags, and it seems like I can get a pretty good deal. Some junkyards offer to include the computer module with the set, while others tell me that I don't need it, and that the module can simply be reset. WHAT? Do I need the module or not? If not, can I reset it on my own? Also, some have told me that if I'm careful, it should be a snap to replace the bags on my own, while others have told me that there's no way. I'm looking for some straight answers here, and I'm starting to get a bit frusterated. any help I can get from you fine folks would be hugely appreciated. thanks!

~B.
