Well here is my problem. . . Last week while driving I lost overdrive. you can turn the OD off and i have 1, 2, 3 and run at 2500-3000 rpms at 55mph. If OD is on it tries to go into OD but slips out. We have replaces the Governor sensor, input and output sensors. Is there anything else to try or do i need a new transmission. Thank you for any ideas you have!!!

Re: NO Overdrive! Please HELP!!!
Check for OBD codes. The throttle position sensor could cause this problem.

Re: NO Overdrive! Please HELP!!!
Thank you for you idea. I forgot to put that the TPS sensor was also replaced. The code that comes up is 0700. And the check Engine light is also on.

Re: NO Overdrive! Please HELP!!!
I had a similar problem on my '94 Jeep GC (although it was stuck in 2nd or 3rd), and it ended up being a fuse. Not sure if this is your Jeep's issue, but it's worth checking. Look in the fuse box under the hood. The TCU (Transmission Control Unit) fuse is in the Main fuse box under the hood. It There is a mini fuse in front, third from left (facing front of vehicle). One is a 10 amp (Battery feed), and the one below it is a 15 amp (Ignition Feed). Both of these control power to the transmission. If these are good it might be the Transmission control module itself going bad.
(The above details came from the following post, which might provide some useful info; this referred to a '95 GC).: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=265767 Let us know if this helps. |
