2002 SE Heating Problems

I need yall guys help. I really dont know to much about cars unfortunately, so if yall could help me that would be excellent. The problem i am having is that when i start my car and allow it to warm up the inside it does not do it. The thermostat will read normal (in the middle) but the car will be blowing out cold air. I checked the coolant level and its normal. Do yall have any ideas on what could possibly wrong, and what i could do to fix it. Thanks

Re: 2002 SE Heating Problems

The temperature indications on the dash come from the coolant temperature sensor, not the thermostat, but they are located in about the same area. The problem most likely is your thermostat is sticking open, or coolant is leaking around the thermostat seal internally. Replacing both of these should cure your problem. They can be purchased at any local parts house, and are not expensive. Plus both are relatively easy to change. Find where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine, usually on the cylinder head, and under that little housing (it may be shaped kind of like an igloo) is where the thermostat lives. It will be attached to the engine by two bolts.
