My clutch broke!!!!

Hi, So the other day when leaving my house i put my car in reverse but prior to that i noticed my clutch felt different, but thought nothing of it, them when i went to put my clutch to put it in drive i had the same feel in the clutch, got half way down still with plent of pressure them snap and it dropped to the floor! I have a 94 mustang GT with the 5.0 L w/ a T5 transmission swap! now the clutch is just sitting right on the floor! i've heard that my clutch didn't go out and that they think one of two things happened! either my cable broke! or the clutch and brake pedal broke! please tell me what you think! thanx, steven hess

Re: My clutch broke!!!!

well the only thing that really came about was the i started to get a little more stiff and had a little play when the clutch was out, i'd say 1/2 inch to a full inch, but when i got in it this morning it felt totally different when i put it down but it still worked then i went to put it in first then soon as i got half way down it just dropped...

Re: My clutch broke!!!!

I say it could be the cable. But I'm thinking pressure plate, thats where my money would be.

Your cable broke. You need a new one. Might as well upgrade to a firewall adjuster & quadrant with the new cable. Summit sells a kit.

you will like the steeda quadrant and firewall adjuster. It replaces the self adjusting clutch quadrant which was the first thing to go on mine. holler if you run into any issues installing it.
