97 camaro brake light problem

Hello, looking for help with a 97 Camaro thats brake lights work while the car is in park but not when you put the car in gear....please help as I have already got a fix-it-ticket for this.Thanks

So the brake lights illuminate, pedal depressed in park, but once in gear they don't? Never heard of anything like this, they either work or they don't. The gear selection has nothing to do with the circuit.

Found the problem...everything seems to run threw the brake switch which had a short in it...go figure.Never ever heard of this going bad before,thanks for the reply I am hoping I have found a new place to spend some time talking about cars.
