fuel rail and injectors

hey im going to be doing my obd1 swap here in a week or so and the guys at rywire told me to just use the obd0 injectors and resistor box so my question is will the obd0 injectors fit in the y8 fuel rail. does the y8 fuel rail flow any better than the 4th gen si rail. does the flow diffrence if any make any real diffrence. also has anybody out there mad an adapter plate for a z6 dizzy to go on a y8 head going to have to make one and was wondering if anybody had some tips on fabrication, havent been able to look at my car cause its in storage so i dont have a visual idea of what im going to have to make. may be overthinking this. thanks Paul

Edit: also where is the fast idle valve located on the 4th gen?

Re: fuel rail and injectors

I can't answer all of your questions, because I honestly don't know all that much about 4th gens. But through the research I've done, the Y8 fuel rails is supposed to flow better than the '92-'95 Civic fuel rails; so that should be some kind of indication. I highly doubt it would make any real difference though. They also have different mounting points, so I'm assuming that the 4th gen & Y8 fuel rails aren't intrerchangable (again, just assuming). As for the distributor, the Z6 one doesn't fit right, you can use a D15B7 ('92-'95 DX/LX) distributor and it will work fine (I believe the '92-'95 CX one will work too, but I'm not positive on that).

Re: fuel rail and injectors

Unless im seriously mistaken, the FITV is only on the b series engines, and select d series.

Re: fuel rail and injectors

i thought it was the silver thing under the throttle body with two coolant lines running to it, but would like to know for sure. cause when i put my car away for the winter the idle would rev between 800 and 3000 rpm. i put the smoke machine on it at school and didnt find any vaccum leaks. i just did a head swap so i know all the gaskets are good. and yes it was doing it before i did the head swap. ive cleaned the IAC and even tried another one i had. checked the voltage at the iac and it was in spec so that lead me to the internet and the fast idle valve.

Re: fuel rail and injectors

ha thats great. i know i was getting worried about doing this obd1 swap and still having it idle like crap afterwards, because all my sensors and iac were all working properly and were all clean too. its not very often we get thrown a fix that takes 5 mins to do and actually takes care of the problem.
