Problem with Remote Programming...

I just purchased a 1999 Windstar LX. It didn't come with any remotes so I purchased 2 off ebay. When I tried to program them using the off to on key in the ignition 8 times as recommended by the dealer it never enters the programming mode,(door locks don't lock & unlock to confirm). I noticed the van used to have a aftermarket alarm system. Does anyone know any other trick to this? All suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Re: Problem with Remote Programming...

The directions are in the manual. If you don't have one then you can get one online. Here is a link to your manual http://www.vehiclerepair.org/windstar/1999.pdf

Hope that helps!

Re: Problem with Remote Programming...

I tried the procedures in the manual with NO LUCK. It just won't go into programming mode,(cycling of door locks). I also own a 2000 mustang and my wife has another 1999 windstar se tried it on those with NO PROBLEMS. It's just on this van it doesn't go into programming mode. The door locks work fine by BTW. Problem is getting it in programming mode. THANKS!
