speedometer and brakelight

Hi: I'm new to this forum so if I don't ask this question exactly right please forgive me. I have a 1990 GMC 2500 vandura. The speedometer does't work and the brake light remains on. This problem just started recently. I replaced the vehicle speed sensor hoping that was the problem but it did not solve it. The van has a 350 Engine with about 150,000 miles, but is in excellent shape. If any one can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: speedometer and brakelight

Welcome to AF. You could scan it and see if the pcm is recieving a speedo signal, if so the head or wiring to it is the issue, brake lite could be many things, e brake switch, press diff switch on proportioning valve, an issue with hydraulic pressure, these things need checking out, no quick answer here.
