manual tranny in newer silverados?
i was wondering if GM even still has manual transmissions available for its pickups. i love my 95 k1500 because the stick helps you slow down in the snow and is also a blast to drive. i hope that they still have the option, since i have yet to see a truck newer than mine with a manual transmission. i have 175,000 miles on my current truck and its probably only got 50 or 100 thousand left, so as soon as i get into the local electrical union and make some real money, i plan on investing in a new truck, provided they offer a stick, so that i dont get stranded on the interstate on the way to a jobsite 50 miles from my house or something like that

Re: manual tranny in newer silverados?
newest gas truck i've SEEN with a manual is an 06...you may be able to get a work truck with a manual, or even a duramax. might be a good idea to goto the chevy site and build out a few, or call a dealer...worst thing they can say is no.

I don't know about the new ones but I have a 99 that I had to order special back then cause only 2% of the trucks they make were manuals.

Re: manual tranny in newer silverados?
that sucks. they are much easier to drive with because you can basically use the tranny to stop the vehicle. plus its funner
