Aftermarket CD Changer?

Does anyone know if it possible to replace the stock CD changer with an after market one, with out having to rewire it?

Re: Aftermarket CD Changer?

Right now, my disc changer is in need of repair or replacement, so I decided to check out the net and came across the following site. (I know this doesn't answer the question, but I thought I'd pass this along.)

Ta!

Did a little more searching and this might be the answer to your question:

Re: Aftermarket CD Changer?

Hi... My mechanic who told me, "It's better to try an have 'em repaired and sooner rather then later because parts are hard to come by." He also stated, the problem he runs into with aftermarket units is getting the radio too acknowledge the new unit (and sometimes it never does) which of course equals time consuming which equals money.

Either way, it's not a quick nor a cheap fix. (Right now my unit is being repaired (the circuit board) was shot and it's gonna cost about $175.) If nothing else talk to the person who's going to do the install. If you take on the job yourself then maybe talk to someone with experience just so you can get another opinion.

Best of Luck,

Shel
