Quality difference between Maisto and Autoart
Hi,
I want to buy a 1/18 Lamborghini Murcielago, and was originally goin got go with the Autoart version, but then found the Maisto one as well. Ordinarily I've not really liked the quality of Maisto cars before, but this one really looks quite good. As these are in the shops I can't realy take them both out fr a side by side comparison, so hoping somsone might be able to give me some pros and cons for each. THings like engine detail, wheels and brakes, seats and interior etc. The Maisto is obviously cheaper (about half the price of the Autoart), I wonder is the Autoart one twice as good? Thanks. |

Re: Quality difference between Maisto and Autoart
well its obvious that AA is better in almost everyway compared to the maisto lambo, BUT that doesnt mean the maisto version is bad either. For its price i think its really good, i mean the interior and exterior are the right proportion. The only thing would be the tires are a bit thick but that can be easily fixed and it'll look really good. If you dont want to pay that much for the AA just get the maisto, but AA is definitly better (maisto still not bad though)

Re: Quality difference between Maisto and Autoart
Yea like crazy phantom said, comparing a maisto to an auto art is like comparing night to day. If you don't want to spend a lot of money and don't mind sacrificing detail, then the maisto is for you. However, if you are in to detail and don't mind spending the extra money then definitely go with the auto art. The auto art is by far the better choice in my opinion, and I would settle for nothing less than one of the best.

Re: Quality difference between Maisto and Autoart
agree with pretty much everyone else said here. IMO, maisto is a pretty decent budget brand. Autoart is one of the best higher priced brands along with Kyosho, Minichamps etc. Obviously, you get better details, quality with autoart since it's a lot more expensive(I don't think just 2X expensive than maisto nowadays).
Whether it's worth it or not is your call though. If you really really like the lambo, I'd say go ahead and get the autoart version. Otherwise the maisto should be good enough...

Re: Quality difference between Maisto and Autoart
yea actually AA shouldbt even be compared with maistos because there not aimed at the same price range. Its obvious AA is better quality because of the price. But maisto are still good for their price being.

Re: Quality difference between Maisto and Autoart
I guess it all depends on what you collect. Once I started collecting brands like Autoart, Kyosho, etc... other brands like Maisto and Burago don't seem quite good enough anymore. But, like whats been said earlier, Maisto is not a bad model. It's just not as good is an Autoart model.
But, I understand that it is difficulty to justify paying the difference in price if you have never seen an Autoart before. |

Re: Quality difference between Maisto and Autoart
I'll just repeat everyone else here.
AutoArt models are impeccable, worth every penny. Maisto models are great, and they're worth every penny. If you have the $70 to drop on a model, go AA. If you don't, go Maisto.
