Re: 98 intrepid camshaft timing marks

it is a 2.7 and i got it to work yesterday it worked fine. i turned it on today and it worked fine for a moment and all of a sudden it started ticking from the left side camshaft of the exhaust. it seems to me that one of the valves is bent why because the rocker arm is slightly loose but it is not as bad as the other where which was all of the intake valves from both heads. i am going to take that head out tomorow and see but i am pretty shure thats the problem but it just seems obvious. i just wanna know why did that only valve get damaged i got a couple theories like maybe a bad installation of the valve stem seals, could it be improper troque, the rocker arm doesnt look perfect, neither do the camshafts a little rust but i used some sanding paper, i dont know if the timing would damage just one valve from which two valves work paralel. any suggestions ill apreciate it thanks

Re: 98 intrepid camshaft timing marks

Normally timing will bend more than one valve. Theres many things that can bend a valve. A lose rocker arm, worn valve guides, over torqueing, wrong size valve or mixing valves (intake and exhaust), and even carbon buildup
