00 impala radio ?'s

Ok so i have a 00 chevy impala and my cd player on it doesnt work anymore, so i have a few questions.

1.Should i just fix the radio?

2.Install a cd changer in the trunk, (whill be about the same price as option 1).

3. Aftermarket radio . I know that i would need a seperate harness for the steering wheel controls to still work, but how would i be able to do my diagnostics without the stock radio?

any help/opinions would be great

Re: 00 impala radio ?'s

I don't know about option 1, but option 2 sounds good. There is a CD changer jack already back in the trunk, however, I don't htink it is actually connect to the head unit in the dash. You may still find it useful, though. Here is a link to the page with the info on it. http://impalahq.naioa.com/
Click on "How To" and scroll most of the way down, on the left side to "Find CD changer and Sunroof connectors".
Regarding option 3, the tire monitor and oil change reminder can be reset other ways. None of the other features can be changed without the factory radio, and the warning chimes won't work either. Check the link above, in "How To" under "Do you have a question about the Impala sound system"
Hope this helps.
