Slideing pass. door

Hi, new to this site. I have an 02 Voyager. The electric slideing pass door will slide almost to fully closed, but won't go all the way to fully latch closed. Does anyone have any ideas on how to adjust/fix the door? Thanks, rotorpup

Re: Slideing pass. door

Some of the more common problems are the wiring harness in the bottom track under the door.It looks like its in a plastic chain. The motor could be bad,the cablefrom the motor, the latch could be bad,the module. It would be a good idea to have someone check the passnger sliding door module for codes and take it from there. You need a drb 3for this.I don't know if any other scanners can check it because I have never tried with anything else.

Re: Slideing pass. door

xj31, thanks for the reply. I was hoping it was maybe a common thing where you didn't have to check so many things. Wonder if my local mechanic can check the codes? Really hate to pay dealer prices if I don't have to! Thanks, rotorpup.

Re: Slideing pass. door

A couple things I'd check,

These vans are very sensitive when it comes to voltage, a good battery is a must.

The trim, and/or door seal, can cause this too. Spray on the seals, and properly adjusted trim on the inside help.

Make sure the door wheels aren't seized, alittle spray helps.

Will it close if you assist it? Will the door open from the closed position with no help?

You can check the latch too, Chysler put a plastic cover on the latch mechanizm and it falls apart and can cause the latch to stick. With the door open take a screw driver and push on the latch till it clicks - all the way so all you see is a small round hole the size of a pencil, now take your remote and close the door by the button while looking at the latch, the latch should pop back all the way, doing this will check for free movement and if latch is opening all the way. Some spray here to helps. I had to cut the plastic off of mine as much as I could cause my latch was sticking - not popping back all the way. Hope to hear back.

Re: Slideing pass. door

The latch is at the back of the door, by the child lock switch.
