I bought an O2 signal simulator and the instructions say it has to be installed inside the car. I know it has to be attached to certain wires in the ECU, so where is the ECU? If it's that little box under the glove box, how do I open it? I don't want to fuck anything up (there are a lot of warnings about opening it).

Yes it's the metal box thing under the glove compartment. You don't need to open up the ECU, just plug the wires into the pins on the outside.

ohh. Are you sure about just pluging the wires into the pins? My instructions say something about tapping some wires and cutting others. Have you installed anything like this before?

No i've never done anything like that before. But if your instructions tell you to tap and cut some wires then it's easy too. All you should have to do is splice some wires and connect the new wires to them (the wires coming off the plugs on the outside of the ECU). Maybe disconnect some other wires that the O2 simulator will be used in place of is what's ment by cutting wires? But you shouldn't have to open up your ECU at all to set everything up.

Go look at your ECU... yes you dont open it, you just tap into the wires coming out of it. But if you dont even know where your ECU is I fear for you doing a mod to it, and im being serious. Find a friend that has done it, and if not just pay a professional to do it and then look to see how its done so you can learn from that and do it on your own next time.:smoka:
