Re: key fob programming
Use a key that works and start engine, shut off engine. Insert the key you want to program within 5 seconds and turn to run, the security will go off but so fast you might not see it.
This procedure is in the owners manual under keys. |

Re: key fob programming
I just had a new one programmed for my '04 Maxx. Parts told me to take it down to the service drive and an advisor would program it for me, which they did.
I assume you got the FOBs from the dealer, right? So take 'em back and have the dealer do it...... |

Re: key fob programming
I've got a similar question...
One of my remotes mysteriously died today (not the battery...first thing I checked). Fortunately, my wife had one, so I took hers, which works just fine. I want to buy another one, but...I don't want to pay the dealer to do it if I don't have to. Is there a "clone" procedure that can be used when you already have one remote that works? Thanks! |

Re: key fob programming
Never mind...it appears that there is no way to self program a remote for a '05 Malibu. Gotta be done by a dealer.
