how do you change the timing belt and can the back yard mechanic do it????

I'm not sure if your car has the 3.8 liter like my custom but if it does, it wasn't hard. I had never done it on any vehicle before and the only two things I needed help with was breaking the crank bolt loose, it took a cheater bar and I had someone turn the flywheel slightly while I lined up the timing marks. Other than that, it was basic, removal, cleanup and re-assembly. Took me about 6 hours and I was in no hurry and used only hand tools. Just to add something, I did not go back with the gear that had the nylon teeth. When I took it apart, that stuff was EVERYWHERE and it took a while to get it all out and cleaned up. I installed one that was all metal and it's been in there for 150,000 miles since the change. The original nylon one was toast at 70,000. Be sure to post back with motor size and I'm sure someone else might can get into more detail if need be.
