Electrical problem???

I have a 93 Chevy Lumina. I recently brought a new stereo . I installed it myself, there wasn't a major job since the stereo I brought was a upgrade to the Sony there was there already. I just used the harness that was there. Since the installation of the new stereo I have had problems at night. With the lights and te radio on the lights and instrument panel go wacky, flashing and gauges not working or jumping, but turn the radio off and everthing goes back to normal plus duringthe day with the radio on everthing is normal. Why am I having this problem with the lights on? I didn't mess with the wiring, it was hooked up the same proir without problems. what did i do wrong?

Re: Electrical problem???

new radio may have something wrong inside, could be a ground issue with cluster, a many number of things. if still have old radio, re-install it and confirm problem not there, if not, then is related to new radio for sure. if problem there with old one, is something created during install of new radio, and you will have to trace it back from there.
