Re: Any of you guys running an aftermarket performance clutch?

Well seeing as you would come from NY, you would cross at Niagara Falls, and from there, 1 and a half hours all highway basically. If you actually want to, when I get money to buy the engine and shit you can stay at my place, I have my own house that I rent......what exactly would I need, I wont have a donor car. Would I need the tranny? I have the 4 speed automatic in my 97 z24.

Re: Any of you guys running an aftermarket performance clutch?

Blah, your 5 hrs away. If you were across the st. Lawrence river over the thousand island bridge i wouldn't have mind lending a hand. Because that border is only 1hr and 20 mins from my house. The Falls bridge is just over 3 hrs from me. If your staying 2.4L tranny is the same 96-02 so thats fine. New engine should have complete wiring harness. Make sure if you have ABS it comes from an ABS car. Other wise all that has to be done is support motor with cherry picker, drop exhaust, disconnect fuel lines, power steering, drive shafts are cake to take out with this new tool i have, drop the subframe onto some boards. Lift car up with cherry picker from front and pull engine out, slide new one in, and re-bolt it all up. Weekend at most job. But i don't feel like driving almost 5 hrs.

Re: Any of you guys running an aftermarket performance clutch?

Oh not bad. Also I will keep the 2.4 IF, would you happen, or anyone, know where to get a High Volume Oil Pump for a 2.4? That's why the rob bearing goes on these, is the poor oil system designed in the 2.4, so if I could find one of these, that would prevent it from happening again, and not talking the 2.3 swap, something I dont have to drill or cut. HOPEFULLY, someone knows, I have looked and can't find anything.

Re: Any of you guys running an aftermarket performance clutch?

Well fuck. That's 2.4's weak point, and no one made anything to correct it? GM fucked up big time on that one. They should have designed the engine more properly. :'(

Re: Any of you guys running an aftermarket performance clutch?

I dont know if they're available to you Cavalier guys, but i currently have an Exedy stage 2 clutch and love it. I'm switching to a Competition Stage 5 for my new build since i've heard many good things about them. If they're out there for your car, check it out.

Yea i've heard about spec's issues but exedy dosn't make anything performance wise for the ecotec.
