95 SE 4 Clylinder loosing power please help

Hi Everyone,
Husband not mechanically inclined so I am hoping to get some input from you guys.
95 se 4 cyl...hubby driving home and car starting bogging out. gives it gas and starts bogging out more like it has no power, like it is running real rough. engine light flashing off and on. car did make it home to the driveway. it sounds like the engine is running fine, no noises or anything. it sounds sorta like it is a bad exhaust, like the roughness is coming from under the car (again not the engine). could it possibly be the Catalytic Conveter????? Maybe getting clogged up???? if you have a problem with the cat would it show up on a diag. test with a code?????
any and all input would greatly be appriecaited.

First check if the sparkplugs are all firing if this is the case. Disconnect the converter between the converter and engine if it runs good buy a new converter.
Their are a lot of problems which cause this and you have to check out. Go to a muffler shop they can do this in under one hours time.
AutoZone or Advanced Auto will pull electrical trouble codes free. Bad plugs and wires or a bad converter can set a lot of codes.
A lot of independent shops will check your car for a fee. Usually one hours shop time. If your husband can't do the work either pay or do it yourself.

Wouldn't the rear 02 sensor pick up on this and cause it to adjust the fuel mixture and make it run even worse?

I agree, have someone pull the codes to see what is wrong.
