engine swap

ok, i thought up a new sub. set up. i found a high mile 96 1500 and was thinking if a big block will work in this chasis? i know the 2500 had 454 in them, but will the 1500 handle the horsepower?

All the 7.4 and 8.1 suburbans I've ever worked on cam with the 9.5 or 10.5 differentials, the 1500 has the standard 8.5 diff. The big blocks also used the 4L80E trans and not the 4L60E trans that the 1500 has. Obviously it will fit in the chassis but they used the heavy duty parts for a reason.
