Any Tips or Opinions for 2K Monte Carlo Bra

I got hit and have a nice scuff on my fender. My car needs to be painted all around but I want to wait til I get out of Undergrad and out of FL(Spring 09) to get it done. So I figured I'd get a bra to cover it and some other bumper scratches fixed. What are your thoughts on bras? I heard they can mess up one's paint, should I worry about this since I want to get it repainted later? Also are there any places I should look to get one from besides the dealership? Any and all other insight on the situation is appreciated.

Re: Any Tips or Opinions for 2K Monte Carlo Bra

Bras are not good for the paint. Though they have a soft lining they can be abrasive to the finish because even with the best fit they will still shift and move around in the wind as you drive. Over time paint fades due to exposure to the elements. Not to mention the debris that gets under the bra acts like sandpaper. However, the part that is covered will be more protected. This creates a nice straight line across your hood so that when you take the bra off you can see where the paint has faded. I did what you are considering with my 1982 Toyota Celica GT. A fire hydrant ran out in front of me and crunched up the front left fender. I used a bra to cover up the damage because I could not afford to get it fixed. I would try using a liquid scratch remover and attempt to buff out any scuffs(Meguire's Scratch-X). Give the car a good wax, Mother's or Meguire's Gold Class wax are both great products. Having the car painted is a grand idea but are you really planning on keeping it once you get out of college? You know, get a new job and then buy a new car. Unless it is trashed I would keep your re-sale as high as you can as cheaply as you can.

You can purchase a bra from the dealership and it will fit perfectly. I would also suggest checking out parts for your car.com (pyfc.com). They have some great after market accessories for Montes.

dont put a bra on , it'll make your car look ugly,

try buffing your car and use a good wax like edson4433
