Escort 98 Heater Problems

Okay I got a 98 escort. That does not blow warm air with the blower. the air that blows is cold. and the temp gage is peged in Hot. now I know for a fact the car is not over heating? what area's should I be looking at replacing?
Oh miles around a 175k timing belt I think was done 30k ago or less.

Re: Escort 98 Heater Problems

Check to see if the temperature control cable is attatched to the heater mechanism just to the right of the gas pedal on the center console. If it came loose when in the cold mode it could be stuck on that. It's a remote chance, but it could be that the heater core is plugged up. Disconnect the heater hose at the water pump and the end of the water outlet and back flush the core with a garden hose in the hose at the water pump.
