2000 GP GT Drivers Side Power Seat Malfunction

I have a big prob with my drivers seat. The seat will no longer move forward or backwards. It will only tilt back and forth.

I dropped my keys between the seat and the center console and needed to move the seat all the way back in order to reach them. I had a few bottles and empty pop cans under the seat when I moved.

Once i tried moving it back into place the seat would not budge. It would only tilt forward or backward. I felt underneath to see if the cans or bottles might have pulled a connector lose, but everything seems to be connected.

Any ideas as to what the problem is? Do I need a new motor for the seat? If so how hard would it be to do it yourself? Any suggestions would great!

Thanks

Welcome to AF.

Maybe the junk under the seat damaged the wiring harness to the forward/back adjuster motor. So a closer visual inspection may be required. You can check the voltage to the motor at the electrical connector while pressing the respective switch.
