Hi,
I have a 1997 Honda Accord and my ABS light came on and I realized that I was low on brake fluid, so I took my car to the dealer. The dealer is telling me that my aftermarket Shocks were pinching the brake line and my brake line was leaking, which caused the ABS light to come on. Could the brake line interfere with the shocks?? Also, how much should it cost to replace a brake line?? Thanks, swb1 |

Re: Brake Line Question
I wouldn't think so, the lines don't extend out far enough to interfere, the hoses take it from there and could get pinched or rub and start leaking if not properly routed or secured...
No way to say how much a line will cost, if that's what's needed. My guess is you need a hose...typical brake hose costs anywhere from $12-$40 and takes an hour or so to install, once you bleed it and everything. Lines you usually just bend up a replacement section from standard line stock and piece it in with compression fittings, eliminating the bad spot. Depends on how complex the bends, how much BS you have to work around to get to it, etc...
