2006 Cobalt LS Level 2
Hey guys/gals,
My sister just bought a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS Level 2 with a 2.2 L with 39,000 miles on it. I told her to get a bigger car (like mine a 2002 Grand Prix) but she wanted a smaller car. She thinks my car is a boat but I think it is safer. Anyways, I just have a few questions for you guy/gals: 1- What are the common problems with these cars? 2- What mechanical issues exsist? 3- Are they reliable?? Any advice would be gladly accepted. Thanks |

Re: 2006 Cobalt LS Level 2
I don't know of any real chronic issues with the Cobalt (GM delta chassis) aside from maybe some interior and suspension noise common on any 'entry level' car. Almost all the "problems" I've read about, stemmed from cars that have had modifications done on them. The Ecotec and 4T45E is a well proven drivetrain. Not sure what options are on a level 2 LS, but you'll have fewer problems with less power options.

Re: 2006 Cobalt LS Level 2
The only problem that came up a lot was ignition switch issues. Tell her to not have a lot of junk on a key chain, which the added weight seemed to make a difference.
