Headlight Switch? 93 Grand Marquis
Hello,
About a month ago my interior lights (instrument cluster, heater control)started hesitating to turn on. Next thing I know it takes a smack on the bottom of the dash right under the headlight switch to get them to come on. Now that the weather has turned colder than cold, they won't come on at all. When I was brushing off the car this morning I noticed I don't have any taillights either!!! I checked fuses and they where all good. Does this sound like the headlight switch itself is bad? Thanks for your help, BH |

Re: Headlight Switch? 93 Grand Marquis
I think you are on the right track. Also check the wiring connector on the switch. Theyare bad about burning and shorting out.

I replaced the headlight switch last night. The actual problem was an overheated slightly burned contact in the plug. Whether or not the excessive heat was caused by a bad switch or not I don't know, but I figured as long as I had it apart I should just put the new switch in.
Thanks, BH |
