Race Team

Okay this may sound gay, but i dont care its just a question. I am thinking about building a race car, but not for strip, for an actuall race track. Are there any guidlines that have to be followed in order to race a car, and im not talking about a cold air intake, or new exhaust, im talking about a whole engine, weight reduction, what not and so forth. Are there any race leagues that hvae race modified street cars? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated

I can't really think of the league names out there, but I know Habib is an Auto-X guy, so you might want to hunt him down. Just find out what Auto-X your gonna try and get into, and get a rule book or something from them, and whatever class you are going into. That is the best way to find that stuff out.
