F430 Scuderia by Detail

Hi! I like to share the whole process of the creation of a new TK for the Fujimi F430 challange, the F430 scuderia TK. It would be the first aftermarket product of a new firm: Detail, ever Italy based as the Scuderiaitalialab. I would like to share also becouse I'm using mixed media: CAD/CAM tech. for some stuff, manual scratchbuilted items for other.

let me show the 1/1 beast:

The plan:

- 4 19" 5 (double) spokes rims to fill Fujimi tyres
- bodykit with front damper, splitter, siderskirts, rear damper+extractor, rear spoiler/partial engine hood. Brake calipers.
- PE set with grills (front and back), scuderia's signs, few internal details, simplified carboceramic face.
- Internal detail: consolle and seats.
- decal sheet with scuderia's signs and stripes in two colors, dark silver (black surround) and white (ever black surround)

I'm wondering to work also on a "premium pack" with full carboceramic discs, engine pack (not Tamy clone, 100% 430 engine by CAD CAM, good also for the standard 430) and may be some sunspensions detail to switch the Fuji kerbside to a full detail kit.

At now I finished rims, 90% finished the bodykit. I have 70% PE ready and I must design strips for the decals sheet.

Let me show how I done, starting from rims.

I designed the rim with a CAD software, size is just a bit bigger than the current challange rims. I done 1 only size, than I'll cut inside the prototype to allow the resin caster service to make both fron and rear wheels. In this first rendering there's some detail that was correct later (see following B/W renderings)

I designed the inside connection just like the Fuji one:

And after some days, this is the prototype I got from the service: quality is good (layer step 16 micron), anyway i like to show you before a light sanding finishing to smooth it out for the casting:

I'll post the whole bodykit in a couple days, may be over the weekend: I like to show it finished and primered, I need just to do few touches at rear bumper

Since I didn't designed yet decals I'll like to know by you if would be good to have different colors for the scuderia's strips: at now I seen just the presentation car , F1 red with silver (a kind of dark silver?) strips and the Top gear Azzurro california's 430 with some strange grey strips.

My desire is an azzurro's 430 with white strips (black surround), and I guess white/black surround strips fit well also a giallo modena 430, and the silver/black for a silver or black (or red) 430. Any thought concernig strips colors? Someone has more info about the production?

Thanks a lot for the attention, I'll back with the bodykit soon.

Hi Gio,

it seems that you have heard all my prayers. I'm very impressed because they where in german and not italian

It would be great if you bring the "premium pack" onto the market. Take your time I'm able to wait!!!

Good luck and thx for planing these nice updates.

Thomas

PS: Are you ready now?

i have to ask...

if one were interested in commissioning you to do some cad/cam work for, let's say, a particular alloy wheel design, how much would it cost?

Several peoples here may said you that I help for free, ever, speaking of modelling stuff. The problem is just the time, I'm busy and going worst. If the project you have in mind is something very kind for you we'll discuss by PM, but don't expect I'll help with hurry... TBH some peoples are waiting from long time...

As far as I know, it's a 1/43. They're are very focused on their small F430s at the moment...

Re: F430 Scuderia by Detail

Good thinking, Gio!

Detail is a much better brandname, and I hope it will be true to what it is!

I can only imagine what we will see in the near future from you, time of 3D modelmaking has finally arrived, hooray!

I want, want, want, want, want, want, want, want that scuddy!

Luckily nobody has invented automatic modelmakers yet
