Integra Type R vs My Blazer

hahaha...

Ok so coming home from work today down PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) for those of you who live in the area. And I happened to come along a Yellow Integra Type R. Was stock as they come, still had the factory wheels on it. It was driven by a guy who looked to be in his 30's so I made the assumption he wasn't the 'tuner' type.

So the light turns red ahead of us and traffic shifts around and we end up in the lanes next to each other. He's in the Left lane I'm in the Middle lane. His window was down and I looked over and down into his car (read: lifted truck). Guy looked back at me and out of instinct I said "hey man... gimme a run!"

He smiled and nodded along with a lazy rev... then he brought his rev's up a tad. Maybe 4000rpm for him? His exhaust was stock like I mentioned so it wasnt too loud. I just power braked it a tad, I cant p-brake too hard cause i've got a stock torque converter and it'll heat up my tranny too fast. Anywhooo...

Light goes green and I just mash the piss out of my pedal. I launched beautifully for my truck very hard, he on the other hand didnt... he bogged slightly. I had mmaaaaybe a whole truck length from the start. All the way through first gear he was mine, I upshifted to 2nd gear and I still held my lead somewhat but he made up ground cause of his longer gears. By the end of 2nd gear he was just about even with me, soon as I shifted to 3rd gear he just pulled on me.

I caught up to him at the next light and was smiling, he laughed and said to me "Damn, I didnt expect that thing to move out so quick!"

Hahaha, fun times. My truck will pull like nobodies business through 1st and 2nd gear. 3rd and 4th gear are just too tall... Not bad for 2 1/2 tons (read:5250lbs) of Stock Blazer.

I dont think we raced farther than a 1/8th mile. Go Trukk!

Haha, nice kill... I guess you're lucky he didn't have a fart can and a wing on that Integra, you wouldn't have had a chance

ehhh I wouldnt say it was a kill per say... I just took him off the line. If it was a full 1/4 mile i would of lost...

It was fun none the less, I might of done a bit better had I not had a full tank of gas. 30 gallon tank... thats alot of fuel to be moving around! hahah. Oh well!

I'm king of the 1/16th Mile Race!

Good job! If he beat you in a 1/4 race maybe you could challenge him to a race over large rocks and curbs.

hahaha yeah like i was telling you on online, had he of gone full tilt and really tried it would of been over before it began. I guess he just underestimated my first 2 gears haha.

I mean, high 14- low 15 second car vs my easy 20 second truck.... I think he'd win even if he was in reverse.

still fun though!

wut are u talking about? the type r has SHIT down low...an the guy prolly wasn't expecting TOO much (no offense red) so its not really much of a surprise. lookin at the low end torque of his blazer...its not impossible at all. learn something about autos before u make stupid remarks about things u kno nothing about. were u there? no...who are u to say he didn't do it?:finger:

Hahah, well if you think I'm BSing then thats fine.

But please consider these points...

If you read my post slow and word for word... you'll notice I stated the guy wasn't exactly going for it full throttle. I know he'd beat me, I'm not saying 'I won'. I also stated that the driver of the ITR was suprised that my truck took off so well for its size, reason why he said "Damn, I didnt expect that thing to move out so quick!". Its obvious I was going 102%, and he was going 15% of his capability.

Not to mention, I said we didnt race anything longer than maybe an 1/8th mile, it's obvious if the guy was really going for it even his stock as they come ITR would murder me. Like I said before, he's an easy low 15 second car, against my easy 20+ second Truck. He could of stalled on the line, got out changed his oil, maybe rotate his tires get back in run his race, get out smoke a cigarette then have enough time to gather a crowd of people to laugh at my ass as I passed the finish line. DUH he'd win... it was just for fun.

Sheesh, live a little my friend...

On the other hand... If I happened to be driving the Nova (being that it was mobile)... I would of absolutely killed him... his children... and his wife too... they'd die just cause of the sheer shock. Not to mention his neighbors would probably die as well... cause I bet they're old...
