Door Jam Problems Need help!
Alright my door will no longer close the latch in the jam seems to move freely unlike the other door were it will latch in place until the handle is pulled to release it. so does this mean that a rod is broke slipped or just maybe frozen anyone with info chim in please this is my only car and the door will not stay closed as of right now so I need help also how do I take off the panel to look into the door so I can check it all out and see what is broke? Can I just pull it off or do I need a panel tool? any help will be great thanks from a new elky owner. Here are some pics of my car.

Re: Door Jam Problems Need help!
depending where you are, it could be frozen, mines been doing this in below 20 degree weather. been awhile since i had the panel off, if i remember right it does just pull off, you need to replace the clips they break when you pull it off so go to an auto store and pick some up before you tear it off. just check it out and see if you can find any screws. You need to remove the window crank if you have manual windows that is a special tool, the auto shop should have that too.

Re: Door Jam Problems Need help!
On my '82 Monte Carlo, sometimes the seat belt hardware would get caught in the door and flip the lever that latches the door. If that is closed, take a big screwdriver and pry it up.
