Cool 4.3 Temp

I noticed on some of the forums that the normal operating temp on the 4.3 is 195-210. i have a 96 s10 4.3 with the x code and on the temp gauge it is on the third line with 100 Degrees being the first line (im not for sure how hot that is). and also can someone explain the difference between the x code 4.3 and the w code 4.3?

Re: 4.3 Temp

The temperature at which the engine needs to operate at is the same for the x and w 4.3's. Basiclly its the same for many many engines in general.

I agree.

Your temp should normally stay about 1 line left of 210. If it's staying down closer to 100, then your engine is not warming up properly. If your engine isn't warming up enough for the computer to enter closed loop, your enigne won't be running as efficiently as it should. The most common cause of it running too cool is the thermostat being stuck open.
