Battery Problems... Need Help
I bought a 1996 850T with 101K in September and since I've had the car the battery has consistently had problems. At first it died about once a month but now that it's cold out it's dying every time it's parked outside overnight. I've had the car checked out twice and both mechanics say that the car is charging the battery properly. I replaced the battery in Nov and the battery is under warrenty. I measured the charge when it was warm out and it was not fully charged, but charged enough to start. Obviously, that's not good enough for the cold weather. My question is -- is there a bigger problem going on here, or should I just replace the battery under warrenty and hope that the new battery I get will be fresh and fully charged?

Re: Battery Problems... Need Help
I had a similar problem for 3 years. Check to see that your glove compartment light isn't ON continuously.

Re: Battery Problems... Need Help
A good way to check for a draw is to get a test light and do this...........
Disconnect the +POS terminal. Hook the test light from the battery +POS terminal to the unhooked cable. If the test light comes on (not dim) then you have a draw somewhere. Please note that when you disconnect the battery, you will have to call the Volvo Dealer for the radio code.
