Do you know of any diorama sites?

Hi!

Do any of you frequent/know of any diorama dedicated sites?

I want to build my first diorama but need a lot of inspiration/ideas on a lot of things and would like to do some browsing but can't find any forums on the subject (I can find sub-forums but they are not usually very detailed in techniques/methods used)

Any help appreciated

I'll have a look at what I have in my favorites and drop you a PM - be warned though, it's mainly armor related but the techniques are the same.

Another tip - look at model railroad site - a lot of the techniques are the same.

Re: Do you know of any diorama sites?

This is probably the definitive reference on the topic. It's terrific for inspiration, but utterly invaluable for techniques- it will absolutely make you a better modeler. It is heavily based on armor and aircraft, but the techniques are fully transferable. Highly recommend it, far above what you're likely to find online.

Re: Do you know of any diorama sites?

Thanks Andy

You are the second person who has told me about that book so it must be good! (hopefully it went in the post today )

I have also bought this DVD but I am pretty sure that it won't have some of the specific things I will be looking for which is why I want to browse some sites.

You could also try www.chrono43.com. French site where the builder mainly builds in 1/43 but still worth a look.

Man yea, Shep Paine's book is amazing. I have it in my collection. Tamiya also has a book on diorama's, unfortunately the text is all in Japanese, but the pictures in it do a really good job of explaining what is going on.

I had a post yesterday, but something happened and it didnt post, not sure what I did wrong.

2 Sites that I know have dedicated sections for Dio's are

Re: Do you know of any diorama sites?

WTF?? Are links to other site not allowed or something? Its not like I posted links to porn or anything. If I did something wrong, the least someone could do is inform me that they edited my post & tell me why.

Exactly that, I am afraid.

It's something I don't really understand the logic for but none the less it is one of the ground rules that AF have the right to impose and to which we as members agreed to when signing up.

Don't sweat it and let it slide After all, I did get the info you wanted to pass on and I much appreciate it

Re: Do you know of any diorama sites?

Hmm, I guess that explains why my original post is gone. I was pretty sure I'd done it correctly.

I dont have a problem w/ it, but I wish someone had at least pm'd me about it. I help run a message forum, so I know how it is enforcing the rules.

You know it allways comes down to those egotistical power hungry moderators who just enforce the simple rulez we are too lazy to actually read :P

Keep up the great work guys!
