I'm Going out on a limb here but I think in some ways th new Skyline will be good

PLEASE READ MY ARTICLE BEFORE GIVING ME S---T ABOUT HOW THE ENW SKYLINE SUCKS ALL IM ASKING IS FOR YOU TO CONSIDER MY POINT OF VIEW BEFORE BASHING ME.

I curently drive an Acura TL and my lease expires next year. I have a wife and a kid. The new Skyline/G35 is a car I am seriously considering

1.You have to understand that th people who would buy GT-Rs are small number. The people who have the money to buy them is even smaller.

2. 250-280hp, near 50/50 weight balance and a decent amount of interior room is something I will not argue with when compared to my other anything else in the low-mid 30s like the 330I, C320,and A4.

3. I've seen it in the flesh and it doesnt look that bad.

Yes I do realize that it's a completley different car than the GT-R but understand this: ITS NOT A GTR! THIS IS THE FAMILY CAR VERSION OF THE SKYLINE THE 4-DOOR SEDAN, THE VOLUME LEADER. This is one of the cars that keeps NIssan going, and at there financial state(ya ya I know Carlos whats-his-face saved them) they cannot afford to blow it.

If you keep up with the Japanese auto market, you'll know that many people didn't not like the R34 styling as it was too agressive for a family sedan. Thats why this car was replaced in under 3 years(Jan1999-Summer 2001)

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THE GT-R. I was lucky enough to drive one(one of the greatest moments of my life) but this is the end of an era for Skylines. Things change, people change and cars change both for better and for worse. This is one thing that's changed.

uh the R34 isn't a family sedan, it's a sports car. They did make a 4-door version of it, but it isn't that popular

Why don't you consider buying an R33 or R34 from motorex? then you could legally have one in the U.S.

goto http://www.skylinegtr.com/
they have prices on the GT-Rs they are selling in the U.S.

After the R31 the Skyline became a sports car. Yes some had some practicality and could fulfill the role, but in essence they were sports cars.

For the purpose its been designed for, the new Skyline looks like it could be very good. I would probably own that over an aussie family car if i was purchasing that type of car.

The GTR has always been the same sort of car as the rest of the range, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
