Unhappy help me please

i have a 1990 acura legend, the key is not in the ignition but the dash lights are on what can i do my husband is ill i cannot pay alot to get this fixed there is also some clicking in the dash and under hood

when you say dash lights you mean the idiot lights or the gauge lights that light the dash because if the idiot lights stay on then the most probable cause i would say is the ignition switch is no good and to fix it you will need the new switch and a couple of tools but to temporarily fix it you will look where your feet go and see a medium sized wire harness about an inch wide follow it down to the fuse box and it should at the end have a bigger yellow wire and white and black all in the same harness but you wont be able to see it because the harness is protected by a black sleeve type plastic but follow it down to the fusebox and it will plug in near the fuse box just press the tab on the plug and you should be able to release the harness thus temporarily turning the car off til you can fix it
