Re: 95 lincoln headlights

After testing the fuses, check the Power Distribution Box under the hood too.
Be sure of the fuse condition, I can't tell you how much time we spend on these things just to find out,....
"Oh, I looked more closely at the fuse, it sure looked good, but a new one did the trick, thanks anyway guys"...

If all checks out fine with power distribution, you might have fried the LCM (lighting control module), MFS (multifunction switch), or light switch.

Oh, be sure the bulbs are good too

Re: 95 lincoln headlights

This is too late to help on this case but maybe not too late to help someone else...
I've been told that when disconnecting and connecting the battery to make sure the ignition switch is off and all other switches are off - radio, heater and lights. Lights in the OFF position not on the timer, and all the doors shut. ALWAYS disconnect the negative (ground) cable first.

I am not a mechanic, as I've said before, but it makes sense to me and when I put a new battery in 4000 miles ago I followed those directions and voila! no problems, plus the "Check Engine" light went out and has not come back on.

Steven, Mike, if I'm in error speak up.

Stan

Mine is a 95 Cartier TC….Anyway it’s so dam unseasonably cold out right now it’s crazy…….So because you gave me a starting point I went out in the artic air and did the checklist you gave me. I found the low beam filaments burnt out….what’s the odds…..There must have been a spike of some sort to blow them both at the same time…..I’ve got my battery on a charger for the night and will purchase some new bulbs tomorrow…… Thank you for your time in this matter.

Re: 95 lincoln headlights

That's so COOL <forgive the word play> you found the problem so quickly

I went from standard bulbs to the SilverStars when mine blew.. I must say, I like the way the SilverStars work compared to the stock bulbs.

Everyone agrees that the light output in our cars sucks, we even have a tech article adding a relay to the system to fix Ford's wire routing errors.

Did you get all the information on the recall? We have a potential fire hazard under the hood where a cruise control switch on the brake system leaks and burns down your house......

stay warm.... <not from a burning Lincoln>
