need help. overheating problem

my upper radiator hose blew, so i replaced that, car is still overhearting. im not getting any smoke or steam or anything though. im thinking its the thermostat. is this a possiblity. or could it be something else. before the radiator hose blew there were no symptoms, car always ran at the right temp.

you may have an airlock in the system raise the front of car either on hill or jack start car and idle till thermostat opens slowly add water till fill and i mean slowly add water if added too fast cold water can go backwards down top hose to head and possibly crack it

Re: need help. overheating problem

But why did the hose blow?
I would change the 10$ thermo now and be done.
then blead the system.
All you need to do is fill the raideator leave the cap off and start the engine.
let it run for a good 15-20 min. sometines longer and durring this time the coolant will start to rize and lower in the raideator and appear to be boiling over. It is not boiling over, that is the thermostat opening and closeing and burping the air out.
You need to be right there with a jug of colant and be filling the rad. as the level drops.
It will bubble over mabey 3-4 times and then will stabileize. there will be a little mess.
Top it off, put on the cap, make sure your overfflow jug is at the HOT line and drive it for 10 min. or so.
City driveing works the best as the system will take from the overflow what it needs and finish the (burping) process.
check your overflow a couple times over the next few days and you should be good to go.

After change thermostat, Use the Coolant Leak Testing to pump the coolant check for coolant leaks. Could be bad water pump not circulate the coolant liquid around the engine.
