Fuel under the valve cover???
I'm working on a 90 Audi 80 and I had to set the timing on the car which i think might be my issue.. anyways when i try to start it im noticing there is fuel getting into the top of the cylinder head just under the valve cover.. WTF would cause that???

Re: Fuel under the valve cover???
valve seals, injector seals, along with inaccurate timing could cause gas to get by into the valve cover...never seen it before though.

Re: Fuel under the valve cover???
Perhaps excessive blow-by combined with a clogged PCV?

Re: Fuel under the valve cover???
Well I bought the car with no timing belt on it so it was my responcibility to take care of the timing.. Fortunately its a non-interfearence (sp) motor and no damage was caused to the valves.. I've finally got the timing set and all and then its one thing after another from there..
