2003 745li is it worth it?

My dealer just offered to take back my 2002 745li (voluminous software bugs and engine problems) and offered me a refund or a new 2003 745li. Does anyone have a new 2003 and can report satisfaction with the engine and software?

After having to take the car back to have the navigation cluster replaced, 2 times after it sizzled as it was hit by lightning. Now after only having the car since Sept of 2002, the warning came on that stated "Serious Engine malfunction, drive moderately, see BMW service ASAP. I was told the coils are known to go bad and need to be replaced. Has anyone had this issue? Also, you stated your dealer offered to take the 2002 back in exchange for a 2003, what had to be done to receive that offer? I am ready to call BMW directly and request the same resolution, when paying that amount for a car, shouldn't it be on the road more than in the service bay?

I have a Jan 03 build and the car has had more than it's share of problems. The electronic transmission had to be replaced after 900 miles and it came back from that repair with the telephone no longer working, the NAV system gave me directions in meters, the voice command system didn't work and the CD player recycled to CD1 Track 1 every time I entered the car.

These problems have all been fixed except for the telephone. I am now waiting for a part which I have been told will take 2-3 weeks to get.
