air suspension compressor rebuild kit?
I am new to this forum and to the lincoln town car. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can buy a rebuild kit for the air suspension compressor in my 93 town car. I have found websites that offer rebuilt compressors, so there must be parts available somewhere out there. My pump looks new but it doen not operate even with direct power.
The air bags are new so I would like to repair tha air ride system rather than do a spring conversion. |

Re: air suspension compressor rebuild kit?
If it does nothing when you jump it, it's beyond (basic) repair.
You can get good deals on rebuilds, and also some "tested working" units from member junkyarddoggie. No, I don't know of any parts places for these....

Re: air suspension compressor rebuild kit?
I know they get rebuilt because they ususally have a core charge and you can buy them rebuilt. Ive looked just about everywhere online and cant find any information on rebuilding them. This pump is not that old and even looks brand new but it is froze up.

Re: air suspension compressor rebuild kit?
You're right. There are numerous "rebuilds" or remanufactured ones out there, but that doesn't mean that a private individual can buy the parts.
As Steven says, the first thing I'd do is email Junk Yard Doggie for a good used one. He'll not "pull the wool over your eyes". In the unlikely event that he does not have one I'd go for the rebuild.

Re: air suspension compressor rebuild kit?
Hello Chad
I have not yet found the parts for rebuilds On these pumps. I've looked around but not very hard. If you find a source, let me know I will do the same. I've gone through a few of these pumps. What I usually see is the piston will get stuck in the sleave form corrosion. If you are up to it, which it sounds like you are. Take the pump apart and inspect the piston. Clean up the piston, lube it and re assemble, don't forget to test motor while apart. If you don't have any luck let me know. I have three of those pumps all tested and functional. I have air bags, RAS modules, ride sensors. as well as coil springs for the conversion. Let me know if you have any more questions. I would be more than happy to help. Good luck Chad [email protected]
